The SmartFIRE Forum “Strengthening EU-Korean Future Internet testbeds interconnection” successfully took place on October 14, 2014 at the K Hotel in Seoul, South Korea, as part of the Future Internet Summit (FI Summit 2014).
This open forum organised by SmartFIRE shed light on the initiative and succeeded in establishing a first network of contact with relevant stakeholders. The event introduced the SmartFIRE activities aiming to exploit a unified EU and South Korean experimentation facility with wireless SDN distributed resources, and provided stakeholders from EU and South Korea with an opportunity to meet and build greater cooperation links. It presented the project testbeds cooperation plan and progress and discussed lessons learnt from related Future Internet testbeds success stories.

The SmartFIRE Forum “Strengthening EU-Korean Future Internet testbeds interconnection” brought together the main stakeholders from South Korea and Europe specialised in Future Internet (FI) infrastructures, including industrial companies, researchers in the ICT field from universities and research institutes, as well as SmartFIRE project partners and international collaborators.

The Future Internet Summit 2014 (FI Summit 2014) was held on October 13-15, 2014, at the K Seoul Hotel in Seoul, South Korea.
This summit, organised by the Future Internet Forum in Korea (FIF) and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), provided domestic and international leaders in the field of Future Internet with a place for sharing visions and research experiences. Speakers and participants reviewed the current status of Future Internet and discussed several specific focuses as keynotes, invited talks, and open discussions.
